Interior Finish Work Nearing Completion at New Sterling Park Safety Center

Posted on February 2, 2023 at 8:55 AM by Heidi Kellum

Interior finish work is nearing completion at the new Sterling Park Safety Center in Sterling, Va. Crews have completed installing kitchen and bath countertops, decorative stair railing, and epoxy paint flooring. All permanent utilities have been established. Crews have also completed the concrete apron work at the apparatus bay. When completed, the Sterling Volunteer Fire and Rescue Companies will use the new 22,000 square foot facility to provide services for the Sterling community.

This project is in the construction phase, currently estimated for completion in spring 2023. During construction, the station is being run out of a temporary facility at the same location. When construction is substantially complete, the facility will be turned over to the Sterling Volunteer Fire & Rescue Companies for operation. More information about Loudoun County Capital Projects and phases is provided at loudoun.gov/capitalprojects.

The new Fire and Rescue facility will replace the previous 8,772-square-foot building on this site dating from 1970 and provide more storage and parking. The one-acre property will also expand by a third of an acre. Features of the facility will include a reception area, meeting and training rooms, bunk rooms, a kitchen, an exercise room, offices, apparatus bays, and storage space for equipment and gear.
