Construction Vehicle Backup Alarm Noise May Occur During Early Morning Hours

Posted on February 2, 2023 at 11:40 AM by Shawn Zelman

On Friday, February 3, 2023 construction crews will be working on the Valley Bank Building located on the corner of Church Street and Market Street. In coordination with Dominion Electric’s availability, work will begin at 5:30 a.m. and last approximately two hours. Residents should be aware that construction vehicle back up alarm and general construction noise may occur. This work will not impact power to any surrounding properties.

In addition to the construction work on the Valley Bank Building, this expansion project includes the design and construction of a new 92,000-square-foot Loudoun County District Courthouse and renovation of existing courts facilities, including new parking facilities. Work to install drywall, door frames and window glazing is nearing completion on all levels. Permanent power for the new building has been established, and crews have begun to install the elevators and paint interior walls.

On the outside of the building, Church Street from Market to Cornwall remains closed to vehicular and pedestrian traffic while crews work to complete the installation of dry utilities. Tunnel construction has been completed.

Planning is underway for the start of the existing courthouse renovation associated with the new tunnel. The Loudoun County Courthouse Expansion project is expected to be complete and open to the public in 2023.

Visitors to the Loudoun County Courthouse will continue to have access to free parking throughout the duration of the project at the Pennington Lot and Pennington Garage which are located approximately two blocks from the courthouse near the intersection of Church and North Streets, NE. View parking details and a map of the shuttle route and walking path in this flyer (PDF).
