Loudoun County Update

• Absentee voting is now underway in Loudoun County for upcoming elections in May and June. All voters may choose the reason "2A-My disability or illness" for absentee voting due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Voters may apply for an absentee ballot online. Eligible voters in Loudoun are encouraged to case absentee ballots. Read the news release for details. 
• Every household in Loudoun County, including those in the incorporated towns, will be receiving important COVID-19 information by mail in the next few days. The county encourages residents to look for a postcard from Loudoun County in the mail, read it, and keep it as a reference guide. The postcard includes important information to help protect yourself and your family. The Health Department is also asking ill individuals to proactively reach out to their close contacts and let them know they are sick. The postcards will arrive at all households in English. Some households will also receive a second postcard in Spanish as part of the county's efforts to reach all members of our community with this important public health information. Read the news release for details. 
• Loudoun County and its non-profit community partners have developed a reference guide to basic needs assistance throughout the county. Contact information is provided for providers of child care and baby supplies; employment; food assistance; healthcare; legal service and foreclosure prevention; mental health and wellness; phone, internet and utility assistance; rental assistance and homeless prevention; transportation; volunteer/ donation opportunities; and emergency services. • Loudoun's COVID-19 Business Interruption Fund process is nearing its completion. The fund was designed to disperse a total of $1.4 million in $5,000-$10,000 increments to Loudoun businesses adversely affected by the novel coronavirus. Out of the 1,200 plus applications, 671 met the Board's criteria. All grant-receiving applications and business names will be posted on LoudounBusinessFund.org and contacted via email to discuss next steps. All applicants that did not receive funding will also be contacted with additional resources and funding opportunities to consider. Read more about the process.
