Lovettsville Community Center

Project Overview

• This project will design and construct a new community center building in the Town of Lovettsville, replacing the existing building.
• The new Community Center will be over 15,000 square feet and will have a full-size gymnasium, five classrooms, a multipurpose room, kitchen, administrative offices, meeting space and storage areas.  
• The project also includes a 600-square-foot addition and renovation to the existing 1,200-square-foot Pool House.
• The contract was awarded to Meridian Construction on May 30, 2019.  Construction will be completed in multiple phases and began in late July 2019. 
  
  Phase 1: Mobilization, installation of temporary safety fence to establish construction entrance and separate public entrance, demolition of the baseball field, earthwork, installation of geothermal well field, and construction of the gravel parking lot.
  Phase 2: Site demolition and construction of the new Community Center with associated utilities.
  Phase 3: Demolition of the existing Community Center structure.
  Phase 4: Demolition and expansion of Pool House. Per the initial project schedule, this work will begin in September 2020.
  Phase 5: Complete all remaining earthwork, utilities, asphalt parking lot pavement, landscaping, repair of gravel parking lot, and demobilization.
