Loudoun County Update
  • Loudoun Nonprofits & Faith-Based Organizations Encouraged to Apply for CARES Act Funding: Loudoun County is allocating $2 million for eligible nonprofit and faith-based organizations affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. The allocation is part of the federal funding made available to the county through the Commonwealth of Virginia from the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act.   • Loudoun County Officials Issue Water Safety Reminders: The COVID-19 pandemic has delayed the opening of public pools and as a result, many residents may seek relief from the summer weather and recreation in naturally occurring waters, such as the Potomac River and area creeks and lakes. Loudoun County officials urge residents to use caution while swimming in naturally occurring waterways, human-made bodies of water and private pools as they can pose a variety of health and safety risks, especially to children.   • Governor Northam Shares Update on Phased Reopening Plan:
    • In today's press briefing, Governor Northam announced that Northern Virginia and Richmond can move into Phase 2 on Friday, June 12, 2020. Listen to the briefing on YouTube.
    • Governor Northam also shared guidance for a phased reopening of PreK-12 schools. This approach allows Virginia schools to slowly resume in-person classes for summer school and the coming academic year. Read the news release for details
  • Correction to Link -- Loudoun Talks Job Resources with Shelly Rodriguez: Join Loudoun County Public Library for an interview with Shelly Rodriguez of the Loudoun Workforce Resource Center on Wednesday, June 10, 2020, from 3-3:30 p.m. Learn about COVID-related workforce changes in Loudoun and what new resources are available. Get the details. Note that you may have to install a WebEx application prior to joining the program; the event password is LCPL.
