The project design phase for the Sterling Park Safety Center project was completed in the spring 2020. An invitation for bid (IFB) for a construction general contractor for this project is open until September, 14 2020. Construction is estimated to begin by winter 2021.
This project provides funding to design and construct a new 22,000 square foot replacement station for the Sterling Volunteer Fire and Rescue Companies at the corner of East Holly Avenue and Commerce Street in Sterling.
The new facility will replace the current 8,772-square-foot building on this site dating from 1970, and provide more storage and parking. The one-acre property will also expand by a third of an acre.
Construction is expected to take 18 months to complete.
