The county’s contractor, Waynesboro Construction, received notice to proceed with construction at Potomac Green Community Park on August 13. Construction mobilization is underway, including establishing construction trailers and installing perimeter fencing.
Next month, installation of erosion and sediment control measures will begin in preparation for the start of site demolition and mass earthwork.
The Potomac Green Community Park project provides funding to complete the proffered 28-acre Potomac Green Community Park in Ashburn. This park was dedicated to the county by the developer and contains three multi-purpose athletic fields for soccer, football and lacrosse, and one baseball field.
This project provides upgrades to the park to include additional parking areas, an ADA accessible restroom facility, concession stand, sidewalks and trails, pavilions, bleachers, safety netting, baseball backstops, a playground, off-leash area, tennis/pickle ball court, and a bocce ball court
The estimated completion of construction is June 2021, weather permitting.
