Construction Hours Extended Temporarily for New Courthouse; Scheduled January 8th

Posted on January 7, 2021 at 4:35 PM by Shawn Zelman

Loudoun County is planning to pour concrete slabs for the courthouse building’s basement. Due to the size and complexity of these pours, extended work hours are required.

Construction will start before, and potentially end after, the contractor’s current allowable work hours of 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Construction activity onsite will begin at 6:00 a.m., at which time the crews will set-up concrete pumping equipment. Concrete for the pour will be scheduled to arrive at approximately 7:00 a.m. Construction crews are expected to be completed with their work by 9:00 p.m.; however, due to the need to complete concrete pours of this nature once they have started, work may extend later into the evening until complete, but not lasting past midnight.

Loudoun County has received the required approvals for the change in the work hours. Weather permitting and baring any unexpected circumstances, construction for the fourth of five planned concrete pours is:

Pour #4: Friday, January 8, 2021

Residents should expect to hear increased construction noise including truck back-up alarms and they should also expect extra lighting during the early morning and evening hours.

Visitors to the Loudoun County Courthouse will continue to have access to free parking throughout the duration of the project. The Pennington Lot and Pennington Garage are located approximately two blocks from the courthouse near the intersection of Church and North Streets, NE.
