Courthouse Construction Scheduled to Begin January 6, 2020

Construction of the new Loudoun County courthouse building on Church Street in Leesburg is scheduled to begin on January 6, 2020. Residents and businesses within one mile of the construction site will receive post cards in the mail encouraging recipients to sign up for regular email and text updates on the two and half year project.

Prior to the start of construction, Loudoun County is offering preconstruction surveys to property owners within 450 feet of the primary construction site. Eligible property owners who live within the defined area should have already received a letter in the mail from McDonough Bolyard Peck, Inc. (MBP) with instructions for receiving a preconstruction survey. Property owners in the designated area are encouraged to respond to the letters prior to January 6, 2020, in order to receive a preconstruction survey of their properties. MBP will mail a second letter this month to property owners who have not yet responded. If MBP does not receive a response from eligible property owners prior to January 6, 2020, a preconstruction survey of their property will not take place.

Loudoun County has contracted with MBP to perform surveys documenting the baseline condition of the interior and exterior of properties. Once an inspection is completed, the property owner will be provided a copy of the survey at no cost. For questions about the preconstruction survey, email MBP Senior Project Manager Kay Jackson or call 703-772-6576.
