Crews have completed the installation of all concrete masonry and structural steel for the Sterling Community Center Renovation. The roof is almost complete, the mechanical equipment has been set in place, and the sitework is ongoing.
Work to rough-in for mechanical, electrical and plumbing is about 60% complete and the interior framing is about 70% complete.
In the next month, power will be switched on, work will begin on the parking lots, and crews will begin installing exterior windows and doors, and drywall.
The project, which will add 2,000 square feet to the existing 18,700 square-foot community center facility in Sterling includes improving the entrances to the center, enlarging the gymnasium, renovating the outdoor pavilion, adding an outdoor amphitheater, creating new patio and lawn areas and expanding the teen recreation area.
The Sterling Community Center project is expected to be completed in fall 2021. During the renovation, the center will provide services at an adjacent county-owned property at 150 Enterprise Street.
