[ARCHIVED] Start of New Courthouse Construction Delayed

The original item was published from December 20, 2019 2:34 PM to January 24, 2020 3:25 PM

Loudoun County has delayed the start of construction of the new courthouse building in Leesburg until further notice to allow more time for the county to prepare. During a community meeting on November 14, 2019, the county had previously announced that construction would begin on January 6, 2020.

As a result, the Church Street Parking Lot and the Semones Parking Lot will remain open until further notice. Free parking for visitors to the Loudoun County Courthouse is available in the Pennington Parking Garage, which is located off of Church Street, NE, approximately two blocks from the courthouse.

The delay in the start of construction is expected to last two weeks or longer. As details regarding the start of construction are finalized, the public will be informed about a new date and any related impacts to the community.
