Crews working to construct Lovettsville Community Park in Lovettsville, Virginia have begun to erect structures on the park grounds. Located near East Broadway, Lovettsville Road and Milltown Road in Lovettsville, this project includes the construction of 90 acres of park facilities. Within the last few weeks, prefabricated equestrian area restroom facilities, athletic area restrooms and concession buildings have all been set in place on the park grounds. Construction of the ballfield pavilion is underway.
In addition to the construction of park buildings, work on athletic fields and the equestrian area is also progressing. Scoreboards have been installed at the athletic fields and crews have begun installing irrigation and lighting in these areas. Work to prepare the athletic fields and equestrian area for surface material is almost complete. Fencing and surface installation will begin in the next several weeks.
When complete, Lovettsville Community Park facilities will include equestrian trails, walking trails, off-leash areas, a pond, and amphitheater. It will also include four softball/baseball fields, three soccer fields and an equestrian area. The park will be operated by the Loudoun County Department of Parks, Recreation and Community Services.
The construction project includes improvements to the southern entrance and a new asphalt play area at Lovettsville Elementary School. Other additions to the park site include site lighting, athletic field lighting, athletic field irrigation systems, fencing, retaining walls, athletic field accessories, flag poles, utility infrastructure, storm water grading, piping, and landscaping.
