Loudoun County Update
  • COVID-19 Vaccine Approval for 12- to-15-Year-Olds Moves Closer: The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) voted today (5/12/21) to approve the use of the Pfizer COVID-19 in children ages 12 to 15. If the CDC director adopts the recommendations, then guidance will be issued to state health departments about expanding the use of the vaccine to 12- to-15-year-olds and the Virginia Department of Health is expected to authorize Loudoun and other health districts in the state to begin vaccinating individuals ages 12 and older. Loudoun County hopes to have authorization to vaccinate children ages 12 to 15 by the end of this week.
  • Next COVID-19 Testing Event is May 18 at Cascades Library: Loudoun County will hold another of our weekly, drive-thru COVID-19 testing event Tuesday, May 18, 2021, 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m., at Cascades Library, 21030 Whitfield Place, Potomac Falls (Access the testing location in the back parking lot, near the senior center.) The testing events are free and open to all.
