Loudoun County Update
  • COVID-19 Funeral Assistance Update: The Federal Emergency Management Agency reports that it has dispersed more than $128 million to nearly 19,000 people who applied for financial assistance for funeral expenses incurred after January 20, 2020, for deaths related to COVID-19. The program began accepting applications in April. So far in Virginia, 350 applicants have received assistance totaling more than $2 million. To be eligible for funeral assistance, applicants must meet these conditions:
    • The death must have occurred in the United States. The applicant must be a U.S. citizen, non-citizen national or qualified alien who incurred funeral expenses after January 20, 2020.
    • The death certificate must indicate the death was attributed to COVID-19.
    • There is no requirement for the deceased person to have been a U.S. citizen, non-citizen national or qualified alien.
    • To receive an application for assistance, call 1-844-684-6333 | TTY: 800-462-7585 from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Multilingual services are available.

  • COVID-19 Vaccine Appointments Available: If you haven't received a COVID-19 vaccine, now is a good time to make an appointment to do so. Everyone 12 and older is eligible to receive a COVID-19 vaccine and it's easy to make an appointment: 
  • Reminder - Shuttle Service is Available at the Loudoun Vaccine Clinic: Loudoun County continues to offer a free shuttle service between the Loudoun County Transit bus stop at Dulles Town Center and the county’s vaccination site located at the other end of the shopping mall. The shuttle runs continuously during the vaccination site's hours of operation. Anyone who has an appointment scheduled at the Health Department’s vaccination clinic and arrives via Loudoun County Transit is encouraged to ride the shuttle. 
  • COVID-19 Testing Event Next Week: Loudoun County is hosting drive-thru COVID-19 testing events every Tuesday in June at various locations in the county. The next event is scheduled for Tuesday, June 8, 2021, at Franklin Park, 17501 Franklin Park Drive, Purcellville (Follow signs to the baseball field parking lot.) The county's testing events are free and open to all. The complete schedule and more details are online at loudoun.gov/covid19testing.
