Loudoun County Update
  • American Rescue Plan Funds Available: As we reported in an earlier blog post,
nonprofits and faith-based organizations serving Loudoun County residents and that have been affected by the pandemic are encouraged to apply for financial assistance available through the county’s American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funding. The grant funding will support organizations that are assisting the community with COVID-19 response and recovery.
  • COVIDWISE App Update: The Virginia Department of Health (VDH) has updated its free COVID-19 exposure app, COVIDWISE, to make it easier for users to find and schedule a COVID-19 vaccine. The new  “Vax Info” button allows users to find local vaccination providers and schedule an appointment with fewer clicks. COVIDWISE alerts users if they have been in close contact with an individual who anonymously reported a positive COVID-19 test result. Read more in this news release from VDH.
  • Delta Variant: The Virginia Department of Health (VDH) has upgraded the highly contagious Delta variant from a "variant of interest" to a "variant of concern" and has added information on the Delta variant to its Variants of Concern dashboard. Health officials say the best protection against any of the COVID-19 variants is vaccination. If you are not fully vaccinated, continue wearing a face mask, stay at least six feet from others outside of your household, avoid crowds and poorly ventilated spaces, and wash your hands often. Get details from VDH.
