Major Construction at Potomac Green Community Park is Wrapping Up

Posted on July 7, 2021 at 12:43 PM by Heidi Kellum

Major construction at Potomac Green Community Park is wrapping up. The park project includes the construction of features and buildings that will complete a proffered 28-acre park in Ashburn, Virginia. Potomac Green Community Park was dedicated to the county by the neighborhood developer and contains three multi-purpose athletic fields for soccer, football and lacrosse, and one baseball field.

Over the last several weeks, crews have completed major construction work on the park grounds and facilities, including the installation of landscaping, timber guardrails, and dumpster enclosure; asphalt placement at pedestrian paths and parking areas; installation of field netting, site furnishings, shade structures, picnic pavilions and spectator seating areas at rectangular fields, and constructing the concession and restroom buildings.

Crews will continue work on punch list items until the Certificate of Occupancy is received and the park is returned to Loudoun County Parks, Recreation and Community Services (PRCS) for management. For safety, and as this is an active construction site until the park is opened by PRCS, no trespassing during construction. Security cameras were installed on the project due to evidence of construction site trespassing.

This is the final update that will be provided on this project as major construction is now concluded and the facility will open soon.

The Potomac Green Community Park project scope includes the construction of park upgrades, including additional parking areas, an ADA accessible restroom facility, concession stand, sidewalks and trails, pavilions, bleachers, safety netting, baseball backstops, a playground, off-leash area, tennis/pickle ball court, and a bocce ball court
