Walls Taking Shape for New Lovettsville Community Center Facility

Posted on September 22, 2021 at 2:57 PM by Heidi Kellum

Walls are taking shape as construction of the new Lovettsville Community Center facility progresses. The building is under construction in the Town of Lovettsville at the site of the old community center building. Crews are currently building the masonry walls up to full height for the future Gymnasium.

In addition to building walls, crews have begun installing the roof on the classroom side of the structure. Work on interior rough-in for the mechanical systems has also begun. Over the next several weeks, installation of the exterior brick and decorative stone veneer will begin.

Construction is currently estimated for completion in summer 2022, weather permitting.

The new community center will be over 15,000 square feet and will have a full-size gymnasium, five classrooms, a multipurpose room, a kitchen, administrative offices, meeting space and storage areas. The project also includes a 600-square-foot addition and renovation to the existing 1,200-square-foot Pool House.
