Installation of Structural Steel Underway for New Sterling Park Safety Center

Posted on December 21, 2021 at 8:42 AM by Heidi Kellum

Over the last several weeks, crews constructing the new Sterling Park Safety Center in Sterling, Va. completed pouring concrete foundations and began work to set structural steel beams that will support the building. Crews are also beginning masonry wall construction and the installation of pipes for the plumbing system.

This project provides funding to design and construct a new 22,000 square foot replacement station for the Sterling Volunteer Fire and Rescue Companies. The new facility will replace the current 8,772-square-foot building on this site dating from 1970 and provide more storage and parking. The one-acre property will also expand by a third of an acre.

Currently, construction is estimated to be complete in summer 2022.
