• Total Vaccine Doses Administered - Loudoun: 707,554 (up 17,385 since last report) I  Virginia: 13,865,152 (up 229,573 since last report)

Loudoun County Update

• Loudoun County Holds Two Free COVID-19 Testing Events This Week: As we reported earlier today, to help address an increased demand for COVID-19 testing, Loudoun County has added a second free testing event for this week. The drive-thru testing events will be held Tuesday, December 28 and Thursday, December 30, 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m., at Philip A. Bolen Memorial Park in Leesburg. (Enter the park on Crosstrail Boulevard from Sycolin Road). Required registration forms that can be filled out ahead of time are at loudoun.gov/covid19testing.
  • There has been increased interest in testing stemming from holiday travel and gatherings, as well as the rapid spread of the Omicron variant of the virus as Loudoun continues to experience a high level of community transmission of COVID-19. Loudoun County Health Director Dr. David Goodfriend urges anyone returning home from holiday travel or who attended a holiday gathering with family and friends, or think they may have been exposed to someone who has COVID-19 to get tested.
  • Please note The county and its testing contractor intend to test as many people as possible during the allotted time frame. Given increased demand, there may be a significant wait time in the drive-thru line. Also, if testing capacity is reached before the event’s scheduled end time, the site may close early. • Plan for a Healthy New Year: Reduce the spread of COVID-19 and the flu in 2022 by getting vaccinated. The Loudoun County Health Department encourages everyone age 5 and older who is not fully vaccinated to get a  COVID-19 vaccination as soon as possible. Anyone who is eligible is encouraged to get a booster dose. Vaccine is widely available from many providers in Loudoun, such as medical offices and pharmacies including, but not limited to, CVS, Giant Food, Harris Teeter, Safeway, Walgreens, Walmart and Wegmans. These locations have the benefit of being able to also provide flu vaccine at the same time, which is recommended by the Health Department. 
  • Visit vaccines.gov to find the vaccination site nearest to you. 
  • To make an appointment for a COVID-19 vaccine at the county’s Dulles Town Center site, visit loudoun.gov/covid19vaccine.
• Need a Replacement Vaccination Record? If you’ve misplaced your COVID-19 vaccination card, you can get a replacement vaccination record online from the Virginia Department of Health. The new record will include a QR code. The barcode, which can be scanned with smartphones, will allow anyone to show proof of vaccination with a digital or printed QR code instead of a paper card, and without the need for an app. A person vaccinated in Virginia can visit vaccinate.virginia.gov to obtain a free vaccination record with QR code, which can then be saved to a phone, printed on paper or stored in a compatible account. If you need assistance over the phone, call the Virginia Immunization Information System (VIIS) Help Desk at 866-375-9795 between 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday for assistance.
