Posted on March 4, 2022 at 12:47 PM by Shawn Zelman

As part of the new Courthouse construction, utility work to install new Dominion, Segra and Comcast lines is scheduled, weather permitting, to begin on approximately March 8 through March 31, 2022 along Edwards Ferry Road from Harrison Street to Church Street. The pedestrian sidewalk will be detoured around the work area. Pedestrians should use extra caution when traveling through this area.

Beginning the week of March 21 through March 31, 2022, one lane will be closed on Edwards Ferry Road from Harrison Street to Church Street. Drivers should use extra caution when traveling through this area and follow all directions from the posted signs and road crews. Throughout March, there will be no parking on Edwards Ferry Road from Harrison Street to Church Street.

Future phases of construction include building a tunnel under Church Street that connects the existing courthouse to the new building. The project is expected to be complete and open to the public in 2023.

Visitors to the Loudoun County Courthouse will continue to have access to free parking throughout the duration of the project at the Pennington Lot and Pennington Garage which are  located approximately two blocks from the courthouse near the intersection of Church and North Streets, NE. View parking details and a map of the shuttle route and walking path in this flyer (PDF).
