Loudoun to Hold Virtual Public Meeting on W&OD Trail Bridge Over Sterling Boulevard Project

Posted on March 8, 2022 at 1:54 PM by Heidi Kellum

Loudoun County is hosting an online meeting to gain input from the public on the proposed Washington & Old Dominion (W&OD) Trail bridge over Sterling Boulevard. The public information meeting will be held Wednesday, March 23, 2022, from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. Members of the public are invited to join the virtual meeting to learn, ask questions and provide input about the project.

Login information and meeting materials are available for review at loudoun.gov/trailoverpass. Meeting materials include a conceptual design as well as speaker sign-up and comment forms. Members of the public must sign up in advance to ask questions during the event by March 22, 2022, at 12:00 p.m. Online participants may also send questions to the project team as Q&A messages, which will be answered during the meeting as time allows.

The proposed project provides for the design and construction of a W&OD pedestrian/bike bridge over Sterling Boulevard (Route 846). Sterling Boulevard is Loudoun County’s only four-lane roadway that crosses the W&OD Trail. When complete, the pedestrian/bike overpass will separate pedestrians, bicyclists, horseback riders and other users of the W&OD Trail from roadway traffic on Sterling Boulevard.
