Grant Q&A: Part IV, Outcomes

Posted to Nonprofit Updates on December 17, 2019 at 10:01 AM by Shalom Black

In the second question under Part IV. Outcomes, there’s a drop down menu to “Select Area of Need to be addressed by this service”. If we only have one service, but it aligns with two Areas of Need, how do we designate both? Or should we just choose the one our service most aligns with?

You may choose the Area of Need the service most closely aligns with.

Grant Q&A: Question 1 (Areas of Need)

Posted to Nonprofit Updates on December 13, 2019 at 11:34 AM by Shalom Black

In Question 1, Area(s) of Need:

1. Are there different “buckets” of money available for each Area of Need or will grants be equally considered no matter to which Area of Need they align?
2. How do you define Long-term Support? For example, would six months be considered long-term in a one-year grant cycle?

1. There are no "buckets" or allocations of funds for specific Areas of Need. All applications will be considered equally regardless of Area of Need.
2. Long-Term Support is defined as "Services that focus on assisting individuals who have continuing, long-term support needs to remain healthy, safe, and independent in the community." This definition references continuing needs that require added supports throughout a significant portion of a person's life, as opposed to several months or years.

Grant Q&A: Mini-Grant Areas of Need

Posted to Nonprofit Updates on December 11, 2019 at 4:15 PM by Shalom Black

On the mini-grant application, we were able to check off two areas of need in alignment with our request. In the outcomes section of the application we are only able to select one area of need. Why is this?

Mini-grant applicants are only required to provide one impact/ outcome for their applications. Please choose the Area of Need most closely aligned to the service whose impact you are measuring.
