THE LAST DAYS OF MARTIN LUTHER KING JR.

Sunday, January 19, 2020

Two actors bring this original story of historical fiction alive on stage. The play imagines an enterprising black television reporter who is granted a rare sit-down interview with the civil rights leader on the day King is scheduled to make an appearance in Memphis. This ambitious black veteran reporter, Preston Spencer, plans to delve into difficult topics others have left untouched out of respect for his humanitarian work. The desperation of one man collides with the integrity of the other. Witness the Last Days of Dr. Martin Luther King. Jr. performed by Alan Bomar Jones and Bryant Bentley. Sponsored by the Friends of Franklin Park Arts Center as part of their GOLD STAR series.
