The Loudoun Pet Pantry is challenging residents of Loudoun County to “stuff the truck” with donated pet food to help animals and families in need. The “Stuff the Truck” event will take place on Saturday, August 10 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. outside the Pet Valu store at Goose Creek Village, 42780 Creek View Plaza in Ashburn.

Organizers will accept all brands of pet food at the event. To help volunteers create kits that will be distributed to families in need, those donating are asked to contribute specific quantities of pet food:

• Bags of dry dog food between three and 10 pounds
• 5.5 or 13.2 ounce cans of dog food• Bags of dry cat food between three and 7 pounds

Monetary donations will also be accepted. During the event, attendees can climb aboard Loudoun County Animal Services’ mobile adoption unit to view pets available for adoption.

The Loudoun Pet Pantry is a new partnership between Loudoun County Animal Services, The Humane Society of Loudoun County, and Loudoun Interfaith Relief. “The Loudoun Pet Pantry will have a positive and lasting impact on animals and families in Loudoun County. The goal is to keep pets with their families by providing temporary help when residents need it most,” said Amy Seymour, Shelter Administrator with Loudoun County Animal Services.
