[ARCHIVED] Loudoun Residents “Stuff the Truck” With More Than 1,000 Pounds of Pet Food

Loudoun County residents came through with a generous outpouring of support for the “Stuff the Truck” event, hosted by The Loudoun Pet Pantry, on Saturday, August 10, 2013. During the four-hour event, organizers accepted donations to help animals and families in need outside the Pet Valu store at Goose Creek Village in Ashburn. The Loudoun Pet Pantry received more than 1,000 pounds of food, including:

• 136 cans of cat food
• 156 cans of dog food• 66 bags of cat food
• 128 bags of dog food

Volunteers will use the food to create kits that will be distributed at Loudoun Interfaith Relief starting in September.

The Loudoun Pet Pantry is a new partnership between Loudoun County Animal Services, The Humane Society of Loudoun County, and Loudoun Interfaith Relief. Its mission is to help keep pets in homes by assisting families in need with temporary, supplemental pet food for cats and dogs.
