SUSTAINED PATTERN OF ABUSE LANDS STERLING MAN IN PRISON
JUDGE IMPOSES TEN YEAR ACTIVE SENTENCE
LEESBURG, Virginia – September 13, 2013. Oscar Ivan Flores-Otero, 36, of Sterling, appeared in the Circuit Court of Loudoun County, in custody, for sentencing on two counts of aggravated sexual battery. Judge Benjamin N. A. Kendrick sentenced Flores-Otero to an active sentence of ten years in the Virginia Department of Corrections for each charge. The sentences will run concurrently to one another.
On April 26, 2013, Flores-Otero pleaded guilty to the two charges related to incidents occurring with an eleven year old victim in Sterling over the course of several years.
Flores-Otero received an additional 20 years of suspended time. Upon his release, he will be placed on 20 years of supervised probation.
Pursuant to Virginia’s Sex Offender and Crimes Against Minors Registry Act, Flores-Otero will also be required to register as a sex offender.
