STERLING MAN LIKELY TO SPEND REST OF HIS LIFE IN PRISON

FORTY YEAR ACTIVE SENTENCE IMPOSED

LEESBURG, Virginia – October 24, 2013. Shiloh Forrest, 38, appeared before Judge Burke F. McCahill in Loudoun County Circuit Court for sentencing on one count for forcible sodomy. McCahill sentenced Forrest to life in prison with all but forty years suspended. The active sentence of forty years will run consecutively to a 320 month federal sentence Forrest is currently serving for manufacturing child pornography.

Between August 11, 2009 and August 22, 2011, Forrest forced his young daughter to perform sex acts on him, while he videotaped the events using his cellular phone. The video clearly depicted his daughter and included audio of Forrest instructing her on what to do. The video was uncovered during the course of a federal investigation regarding allegations of the possession of child pornography by Forrest.
Forrest entered a plea of guilty to one count of forcible sodomy in January 2013.

“The Virginia legislature provides judges with a wide range of sentencing options in crimes such as this,” said McCahill. “I thought very seriously about what type of case called for a five year sentence, and what type of case warranted a life sentence,” continued McCahill. “I cannot imagine a case worse than a father sexually abusing his five year old daughter,” said McCahill before imposing the forty year active sentence.

The victim’s mother also pleaded guilty in federal court to a child cruelty charge in connection with this incident.

Pursuant to Virginia’s Sex Offender and Crimes Against Minors Registry Act, Forrest will also be required to register as a sex offender. Information about the Virginia’s Sex Offender and Crimes Against Minors Registry and those on it can be found on the Virginia State Police website: http://sex-offender.vsp.virginia.gov.
