[ARCHIVED] The Ready Set Headlines Loudoun's YouthFest June 16

Loudoun County's YouthFest 2012 runs from 3 p.m.-8 p.m. on June 16 at the Brambleton Town Center in Ashburn, VA. Nationally-known headliner The Ready Set will take the stage at 7 p.m.

The band's debut CD, I’m Alive, I’m Dreaming, was released in 2009. The single “Love Like Woe” went platinum on the US music charts. On May 22nd of this year. The Ready Set released a new song. ”Give Me Your Hand (Best Song Ever).” Fans at YouthFest will be among the first to hear the song performed live.

The force behind The Ready Set, Jordan Witzigreuter, started performing under the name The Ready Set because, as he put it, “My last name gives people trouble, so I kinda needed a band name even for my solo stuff.” The Ready Set is currently signed with Decaydance Records Records, founded in 2005 by Pete Wentz, bassist for Fall Out Boy.

YouthFest is planned by members of the Youth Advisory Council (YAC), which includes representatives from all Loudoun County public high schools. “We are getting a great response from everyone about The Ready Set. It’s going to be an amazing day”, according to Yein Ha, President of YAC.

Opening for The Ready Set will be teen band Just Another Scene, the winner of the YouthFest Battle of the Bands. Also appearing on the main stage are Crush, Pulse, Solemn Company, Bombshell, News for Tomorrow, Infinity Complex, KyleRok, Catie Lee, Amanda Perez, Dusk Whales and Disengage.

YouthFest will also feature attractions, interactive exhibits, vendors, games, food and refreshments. Admission is $5. Tickets are available at the gate or in advance at any Loudound County Manhattan Pizza location or at ticketstobuy.
