Membreno Pleads Guilty to Attempted Robbery of Middleburg Bank; Judge to Impose Sentence in November
LEESBURG, Virginia – Peggy Virginia Membreno, 49, entered a plea of guilty today to one count of Attempted Robbery.
The incident occurred on December 27, 2011, when Membreno entered the Middleburg Bank branch located at 102 Catoctin Circle, S.E. in Leesburg. Membreno presented a note to the teller stating this was a robbery, demanded $10,000 in cash, and advised that she had a weapon in her jacket. The teller did not turn over any money, and Membreno remained inside the bank until Leesburg Police arrived and took her into custody.
Membreno is currently being held without bond in the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center where she awaits her final sentencing hearing on November 9, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. in Loudoun Circuit Court. Membreno faces up to 10 years in prison.
