[ARCHIVED] Free Workshop: Ethical Issues in Dementia Care

In recognition of World Elder Abuse Awareness Day, Loudoun County Adult Protective Services and the Loudoun County Area Agency on Aging will host a workshop, Ethical Issues in Dementia Care, on Thursday, June 15, 2017. The workshop will be held from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. at the Area Agency on Aging, 20145 Ashbrook Place, Suite 170, Ashburn, VA 20147.

Michael A. Gillette, Ph.D., from Bioethical Services of Virginia, Inc., will cover topics including the autonomy of individuals with memory impairment, justifications for interventions when an individual objects and a framework for settling disagreements between providers and family members.

This free workshop is being presented with support from the Virginia Coalition for the Prevention of Elder Abuse. Attendees are asked to register in advance by emailing APSTraining@loudoun.gov.
