Loudoun County, VA- The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office is investigating multiple burglaries in the Brambleton area that are possibly related.

Since July 27, there have been four burglaries reported in the area where the suspect(s) gained access to a home through a basement door.

The most recent incident was reported last night when a resident in the 22000 block of Windsor Locks Square observed two males attempting to enter a neighbor’s home around 8:37 p.m. Deputies with the LCSO immediately responded after being dispatched and the subjects fled upon their arrival. A perimeter was established and a search of the area was conducted with the assistance of a K9 Unit.

Evidence from the burglary was recovered during the search but the subjects were not located. The investigation determined the subjects gained entry into the home by damaging a rear basement door.  The suspects were described as two black males who were wearing all dark clothing.

The first incident in the series was reported on July 27 in the 23600 block of Blanco Terrace where unknown suspect(s) entered an unlocked residence, rummaged through the home and stole jewelry sometime between 7:30 p.m. and 10 p.m.

A similar incident occurred between August 1 and August 3 where suspects entered a residence in the 23000 block of Tradewind Drive. The residents returned home and discovered unknown suspect(s) gained entry into their home by forcing open a rear door.  Several items to include jewelry were stolen.

A third incident was reported on August 16 after a resident in the 42000 block of Twinleaf Drive reported unknown subject(s) entered their home through a rear sliding glass door and stole a purse.

The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office is reminding residents to take the following measures to deter potential burglars:

• Leave on interior lights or place them on automatic timers. Motion sensor lights should be installed on the exterior of the home near entrances.

• All exterior doors should be secured by a deadbolt lock. Install good locks on windows and a locking bar or track lock device on sliding glass doors.

• Close and lock all garage doors.

• Lock vehicle doors and remove garage door openers and items of value.

• Trim all shrubs and bushes around the home. They should not be allowed to grow higher than 24 inches or higher than the lower ledge of a first floor window. A well-kept yard is a deterrent to burglars.

• Report all suspicious activity immediately by calling 703-777-1021 or by dialing 911.

If you have any information regarding these cases, please contact Detective L. Perdue at 571-528-6301 or Leah.Perdue@loudoun.gov.
