With the high level of community interest in the draft Loudoun 2040 Comprehensive Plan, Loudoun County is offering members of the public an option to provide comments via video during the Board of Supervisors’ upcoming Loudoun 2040 public hearings Wednesday, April 24, 2019, and Saturday, April 27, 2019.

The Board’s Loudoun 2040 public hearings are expected to attract a large number of speakers and for the convenience of the public, there will be an option for speakers to videotape their comments on a first-come, first-served basis at the locations of each public hearing. Members of the public who wish to provide comments to the Board of Supervisors may record their comments during one of the two public hearings; video recording will end when the public hearing adjourns. All video-recorded comments will be provided to the Board following the public hearings and be posted in the county’s online video archiving system at www.loudoun.gov/meetings

The Board’s Loudoun 2040 public hearings are scheduled for:

  • Wednesday, April 24, 2019, 6:00 p.m.
    Loudoun County Government Center
    1 Harrison Street, S.E., Leesburg
  • Saturday, April 27, 2019, at 9:00 a.m.
Loudoun County Public Schools Administration Building
    21000 Education Court, Ashburn

In addition, members of the public may provide comments about the draft Loudoun 2040 Comprehensive Plan to the Board of Supervisors by:

  • Phone: Board’s Comment Line at 703-777-0115
  • Email: Email the Board of Supervisors
  • Mail: Board of Supervisors, P.O. Box 7000, SE, Leesburg, Virginia 20177-7000
  • In person: Anyone who wishes to speak to the Board in person at the public hearings is encouraged to sign up in advance by calling 703-777-0200 or sign up with the clerk on the day of the hearing beginning 30 minutes before the start of the meeting.

All speakers will have a time limit of two minutes and 30 seconds and are limited to speaking at only one of the public hearing sessions or video recording of comments.

The draft Loudoun 2040 Comprehensive Plan includes the county’s General Plan and Countywide Transportation Plan. Once adopted, it will serve as the county government’s guide for land use and transportation policy.

The April 24 public hearing will be televised live on Loudoun County Government Cable Channel: Comcast Channel 23, Open Band Channel 40 and Verizon FiOS Channel 40. It will also be streamed live at www.loudoun.gov/webcast

The April 27 public hearing will be televised live on Loudoun County Public Schools Cable Channel: Comcast Channel 18 and Verizon FIOS Channel 43. It will also be streamed live at www.lcps.org/Page/140009

Following the public hearings, the Board will resume its review of the draft Loudoun 2040 Comprehensive Plan with a series of work sessions in May. More information about the public process, including a meeting schedule and the draft Loudoun 2040 Comprehensive Plan, is online at www.loudoun.gov/Loudoun2040.
