Loudoun County residents are invited to attend a public meeting to learn about planned improvements to Bles Park, Tuesday, April 23, 2019, at 7:00 p.m. at George Washington University’s Virginia Science & Technology Campus, Exploration Hall, 20101 Academic Way, Ashburn.

Representatives of the Loudoun County Department of Parks, Recreation & Community Services (PRCS) and the Department of Transportation and Capital Infrastructure will be on hand as well as representatives of William H. Gordon Associates, the county’s design consultant on the project.

Information available at the meeting will include results of a site analysis, the draft master plan for the park, photographs of the park’s existing facilities and photographs of facilities at other parks that are similar to what is proposed for Bles Park.

The planned improvements to Bles Park include additional parking spaces, an updated playground with new equipment, field netting, a picnic pavilion and a canoe/kayak launch. Construction on the park design features is expected to begin in the spring or summer of 2020, with completion expected in late 2020 or early 2021.

Bles Park comprises 124 acres in eastern Loudoun and includes a portion of the Potomac Heritage National Scenic Trail. The Eastern Loudoun Adult Day Center is also located in the park.

Anyone who requires a reasonable accommodation for any type of disability to participate in the April 23 meeting should contact PRCS at 703-777-0343. At least three business days advance notice is requested in order for reasonable accommodations to be arranged.
