Loudoun County is recognizing five local employers that have earned national recognition as 2020 Best Workplaces for Commuters for offering employees exceptional commuter benefits: Collins Aerospace, REI Systems, Inc., National Recreation and Park Association, Quantum Park and Telos Corporation. Four of the employers reached this achievement for the first time. Quantum Park was first recognized in 2018.
In order to achieve recognition, employers must meet the national standard of excellence criteria established by the Best Workplaces for Commuters organization. The criteria includes providing at least five means of support to help employees leave their cars at home, such as designating a central point of contact for employee commuter questions and providing an emergency ride home program for employees.
Loudoun County Commuter Services will present awards to the 2020 Best Workplaces for Commuters designees in private ceremonies during the month of February.
“Participation in the Best Workplaces for Commuters program is a win-win for both employers and their employees,” says Judy Galen of Loudoun County Commuter Services. “Employers gain a competitive edge in employee recruitment and retention, while employees reduce travel time and costs associated with driving to work alone.”
Through its employer services program, Loudoun County Commuter Services helps local businesses and nonprofit entities identify commuting solutions for employees working in Loudoun County. Local employers recognized by the Best Workplace for Commuters organization illustrate the benefits of participating in the county’s program.
