Loudoun County invites members of the public to attend a ceremonial ribbon cutting celebrating improvements to Seneca Ridge Drive Wednesday, February 26, 2020, at 10:00 a.m. The ceremony will take place at the corner of Seneca Ridge Drive and Augusta Drive in Sterling. Those attending the event are encouraged to use on-street parking on Seneca Ridge Drive in the Seneca Ridge neighborhood.

The project included improvements to Seneca Ridge Drive, between South Cottage Road and Augusta Drive, designed to reduce congestion and improve pedestrian safety. The work included widening the roadway, adding a turn lane and improving drainage. The project also included curb ramp upgrades, new pavement markings and signage in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act requirements.

The traffic calming measures will benefit area residents and schools, including Meadowland Elementary School, Seneca Ridge Middle School and Dominion High School. Traffic volume on this section of Seneca Ridge Road is about 6,000 vehicles a day.

The budget for the Seneca Ridge Drive improvements was $1.54 million in local tax funding. More information about the project is available at loudoun.gov/SenecaRidgeDrive.
