[ARCHIVED] County Continues to Provide Latest Information on Coronavirus Disease 2019

Loudoun County continues to take steps to keep residents informed about the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). 

Loudoun County will host a live question-and-answer session about coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) with Loudoun County Health Department Director Dr. David Goodfriend on the Loudoun County Government’s page on Facebook Thursday, March 12, 2020, from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. Questions may be submitted now through the scheduled event on Facebook

In addition, Dr. Goodfriend will be among the officials briefing the Board of Supervisors on COVID-19 and the county’s preparedness and response efforts during a special meeting of the Board today, Wednesday, March 11, 2020, at 5:00 p.m. in the Board Room of the Loudoun County Government Center, 1 Harrison Street SE in Leesburg. Members of the public are invited to attend the meeting or watch the briefing on Comcast Government TV Channel 23, Open Band Channel 40 and Verizon FiOS Channel 40, or online at loudoun.gov/webcast. Documents prepared for the meeting, including questions and answers that have been submitted by members of the public, are available at loudoun.gov/coronavirus.

Loudoun County encourages residents to stay informed about COVID-19.

  • Visit loudoun.gov/coronavirus, which includes a link to sign up for email and text updates. 
  • Text LCCOVID19 to 888777 to receive text alerts from Loudoun County about COVID-19. 

On Tuesday, the county announced that one resident has tested “presumptive positive” for COVID-19. Details can be found in this news release. Officials held a news conference following the announcement. The video of the news conference may be viewed here.

Loudoun County residents who have questions about COVID-19 may call the Health Department’s information line 703-737-8300, which is staffed from 9:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m. Monday - Friday and 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
