Members of the public are invited to take part in a series of community conversations on the development of the Loudoun County Unmet Housing Needs Strategic Plan (UHNSP). The Loudoun County Office of Housing will host two virtual public meetings to share more information about the UHNSP and seek public input on housing, community development needs and fair housing issues.

The county would like to hear from the public regarding housing needs, gaps and opportunities, so that the strategic plan can help the county and its partners improve housing access, quality and affordability for all families. Public participation in this process will help the county better understand the type, locations and prices of needed future housing.

The first meeting is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, October 28, 2020, from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. The second meeting is scheduled for Thursday, October 29, 2020, from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m.

Both meetings will include a short presentation from the plan team and provide an opportunity for attendees to provide input and ask any questions.

Members of the public who would like to participate will be able to do so remotely through the Webex Events platform. Information on how to participate in this public outreach meeting is posted at loudoun.gov/remoteparticipation.

The purpose of the UHNSP is to identify goals and strategies that address unmet housing needs in a systematic and comprehensive way with integrated programs. The plan will also aim to create housing targets over the short term (the next five years) and the long term. To learn more about the planning process and the county’s initiatives to address housing needs, visit loudoun.gov/housingneeds.

Anyone who would like to submit questions in advance, or would like to provide comments or suggestions on unmet housing needs in Loudoun County, may email the project team or call 703-771-5590.

Anyone who requires a reasonable accommodation for any type of disability in order to participate in the virtual public meetings should contact the Loudoun County Public Affairs and Communications office at 703-777-0113, TTY 711, or by email. Three business days’ advance notice is requested.

More information about the plan, including a link to sign up for updates, is available at loudoun.gov/housingneeds. To learn more about the county’s existing housing programs, visit loudoun.gov/housing
