A Democratic Party primary election for state offices will be held in Loudoun County Tuesday, June 8, 2021. Election officials remind voters of six key things to know ahead of the election.
1. Know When to Vote
Polls in Loudoun County will be open from 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 8, 2021.
2. Know Where to Vote
Most voters will cast their ballots at their normal polling location. However, there are two precincts where voters will use the same alternate locations as they did in November 2020.
- Precinct 118 – Moorefield will vote at Briar Woods High School, 22525 Belmont Ridge Road, Ashburn
- Precinct 819 – Heritage Church will vote at Broad Run High School, 21670 Ashburn Road, Ashburn.
Anyone who is not sure about where to vote may check their voter registration card or look up their polling place and related information online at vote.elections.virginia.gov. A list of polling places in Loudoun is available at loudoun.gov/polls.
Also, curbside voting is available at all polling places for individuals who have mobility issues.
3. Know the Rules About Identification
Voters will be asked to show an acceptable form of identification, such as a Virginia DMV-issued driver’s license. Voters who do not have an acceptable form of ID can sign an ID statement affirming their identity and they will be able to vote a regular ballot.
4. Know Who is on the Ballot
Offices on the ballot will include Democratic Party nominees for governor, lieutenant governor, attorney general, and members of the House of Delegates in Districts 34 and 86. Sample ballots are online at loudoun.gov/JunePrimary.
5. Know Who Can Vote
All registered voters in Loudoun County are eligible to vote in the primary election as Virginia does not register by party affiliation.
