Loudoun County has been awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting by the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA). The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting. This marks Loudoun County’s 32nd Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting and the 30th consecutive year that the county has received this honor from GFOA.
Loudoun County received the award for its Comprehensive Annual Financial Report for Fiscal Year 2020, which was judged to have met the high standards of the awards program. The report was cited for demonstrating a constructive “spirit of full disclosure” to clearly communicate the county’s financial story.
The GFOA is a nonprofit professional association serving more than 21,000 government finance professionals in the United States and Canada.
