[ARCHIVED] Douglass Community Center Relocation Plan Revised

Facility Update graphic

The Douglass Community Center in Leesburg, operated by the Loudoun County Department of Parks, Recreation and Community Services, will be temporary relocated during renovation of the Douglass School. Renovation of the school, which houses the community center and Loudoun County Public Schools Alternative Education program, is scheduled to begin in summer 2021, with completion in late 2022.

The community center’s exterior features, including the pavilion, playground and the Douglass Dunes sand play area, will close Monday, July 12, 2021, and remain closed throughout the renovation. From July 12 through July 30, the community center will be closed to the public; however, business can be conducted by phone at 703-771-5913 or by email at dcc@loudoun.gov

Starting Monday, August 2, 2021, the center will be located at 705-H East Market Street in Leesburg throughout the duration of the project. Phone numbers will remain the same. An indoor version of the Douglass Dunes sand play area will open at the new location at a later date. Announcements will be posted to facebook.com/douglasscommunitycenter.

The center is currently offering limited summer camp programs at Leesburg Elementary School through mid-August. For more information, call 703-771-5913. For information about the renovation project, visit lcps.org.
