[ARCHIVED] Loudoun Workforce Resource Center Certified as One-Stop Center

Link to information about the Loudoun Workforce Resource Center

The Loudoun Workforce Resource Center has been certified as a Virginia Career Works One-Stop Affiliate Center site by the Virginia Board of Workforce Development (VBWD). The VBWD sets policies and oversees operations of the U.S. Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act at job centers throughout the state.

The One-Stop Affiliate Center certification demonstrates that the Loudoun Workforce Resource Center delivers high quality employment services by meeting or exceeding all mandates from the VBWD and embracing continuous quality improvement to be responsive to the needs of job seekers and employers. The certification also demonstrates how the center collaborates with other state agencies and local nonprofits to ensure seamless career services without duplication of effort.

To ensure an affiliate center is a high performing and quality site, the VBWD requires a rigorous certification process, which includes individual staff interviews, a large group interview with staff and partners and a job seeker focus group.

“We are extremely pleased to be recognized for our ongoing commitment to workforce excellence in Loudoun County,” said Loudoun County Department of Family Services Director Ina Fernández. “We are especially appreciative of our staff, volunteers and workforce partners who have continued to provide our community with exceptional career services, despite the pandemic-related challenges of this past year.”

The Loudoun Workforce Resource Center offers job announcements, resume preparation assistance, computers and other resources necessary to conduct a job search. Career development workshops are offered throughout each month to assist job seekers with basic computer skills, resume writing and interviewing skills, as well as a variety of work-related topics. The center also sponsors career fairs, employer panel discussions and Meet the Employer events where businesses conduct on-site interviews with applicants. Employment counselors are available to provide career assessments, employment counseling and information on Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act services.

The Loudoun Workforce Resource Center is located in the Shenandoah Building at 102 Heritage Way NE in Leesburg. All services offered are free.
