Link to information about Loudoun County Animal Services

The Loudoun County Animal Services (LCAS) facility will be closed Tuesday, February 22, 2022, for staff training. Humane law enforcement and emergency operations will continue as normal. Anyone who needs assistance from LCAS during that time may call 703-777-0406. The facility will reopen to the public Wednesday, February 23, at 8:30 a.m.

Training is a critical component for the staff of the Animal Services facility, which is the first public animal shelter in the United States to meet 100% of the Association of Shelter Veterinarians Animal Shelter Guidelines. The facility, which opened in the summer of 2021, provides a wide range of services, including pet adoptions; humane law enforcement; housing of stray, abandoned, or relinquished companion animals; dog license sales; volunteer opportunities; dispatch services; educational programs; and pet retention counseling. The facility also features a veterinary clinic and surgical suite for medical treatment of shelter pets.

More information about LCAS is online at loudoun.gov/animals.
