Working with Loudoun County communities, the VCE Loudoun Master Gardeners’ mission is to encourage and promote environmentally sound horticulture practices through sustainable landscape management education and training. Demo Garden work hours are Tuesdays and Thursdays, 9 a.m.- noon.

Healthy Virginia Lawns – Homeowner visits, upon request, to assess lawn health and further educate the homeowner on proper maintenance to avoid unnecessary runoff or use of fertilizers.

Other Project Areas – Can include assisting speakers with presentations, water/tree steward projects, writing articles of interest, children’s education programming, community events, and unit support tasks and projects.

Who should apply? We seek volunteers who have:

  • Enthusiasm and willingness to give back to the community through volunteer efforts by supporting our programs and projects.
  • Commitment to finish the 75-hour internship as well as annual tenured requirements.
  • Three to five-year volunteering commitment once tenured.
