REPEAT OFFENDER SENTENCED FOR THEFT FROM OUTLET MALL
LEESBURG, Virginia – May 10, 2013. Judge Burke F. McCahill sentenced Francis Edward Robinson Jr., 48, to an active sentence of two years and eleven months in the Virginia Department of Corrections in connection with an October 2012 theft. Robinson pled guilty to one count of grand larceny in Loudoun County Circuit Court on March 22, 2013.
On October 20, 2012, Robinson and a co-defendant entered the Banana Republic store located at the Leesburg Corner Premium Outlets. The two men walked through the store selecting various clothing items and placing them inside a shopping bag. Robinson and his accomplice then proceeded to exit the store without paying for the items. They were subsequently stopped by law enforcement and all of the stolen items were located inside their vehicle.
Robinson has a lengthy criminal record dating back 29 years. His record includes numerous drug charges and ten prior convictions for larceny spanning across Virginia, Maryland and the District of Columbia.
In addition to the total active sentence of two years and eleven months, McCahill further ordered that Robinson remain off the Leesburg Corner Premium Outlets property and imposed an additional four years and one month suspended conditioned upon his good behavior and his successful completion of three years of supervised probation upon his release from prison.
Robinson’s co-defendant, Michael McRae, pled guilty to grand larceny on February 22, 2013 and is awaiting a final sentencing hearing on June 24, 2013 in Loudoun County Circuit Court.
