The Loudoun County Animal Shelter is celebrating summer with the Cat's Meow Luau adoption promotion.

From July 27 through August 21, 2013, all cats adopted from the Loudoun County Animal Shelter will be spayed or neutered for free. That means you can adopt kittens under 6 months for $40, cats aged 6 months to 7 years for $20, and all cats over 7 years of age will only be $10.

On Saturdays and Sundays during the luau, cat adopters can try their luck with an indoor duck pond for a chance to win special feline prizes. Also, cat adopters wearing Hawaiian shirts can enter a drawing for a chance to win a $30 pet store gift card.

Loudoun Animal Services officials say if you haven’t yet discovered the joys of having a cat in your life, the Cat’s Meow Luau is the “purr-fect” time to visit the Loudoun County Animal Shelter. There are lots of cats and kittens available for adoption. You can find photos of the animals as well as directions to the Animal Shelter, 39820 Charles Town Pike, Waterford, VA 20197, at www.loudoun.gov/animals.
