[ARCHIVED] Loudoun Animal Services Receives Donation for Animal Control Operations

The Loudoun County Department of Animal Services has received a donation of $5,094.00 from the King-White Family Foundation in support of Animal Control operations. The donation is intended for use to purchase specialized equipment that will assist officers in the field with investigations and enforcement of animal-related laws.

Carolyn White, Vice-President and Director of the King-White Family Foundation, presented a check to Loudoun County officials at Wednesday’s meeting of the Board of Supervisors. In the photo at right, White presents a donation of $5,094.00 to, from left, Animal Control Officer Chris Brosan, Animal Control Chief Adrienne Burton, Animal Services Director Thomas Koenig, and Animal Control Officer Mark Stacks.

The King-White Family Foundation uses its funds for grants and awards to individuals or organizations for charitable, scientific, religious, literary and educational purposes, and national or international or amateur sports competition.

The Animal Control Division of the Loudoun County Department of Animal Services is responsible for enforcing local and state animal laws and investigates reports of animal cruelty and vicious or destructive animals. More information about the department is online at www.loudoun.gov/animals .
