Adults suffering from the effects of chronic conditions, and their caregivers, are invited to join the Area Agency on Aging for a six-week workshop developed by Stanford University that focuses on empowerment and improving the quality of life.
The free workshop is open to anyone 18 and older with a chronic condition - such as heart or lung disease, asthma, arthritis, migraines, HIV, diabetes, Crohn’s - or any illness that affects daily life. Sessions will cover nutrition and physical activity, making informed treatment decisions, dealing with difficult emotions, understanding medication and much more.
The workshop will be held Tuesdays, April 14 – May 19, 2015, from 10 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. at the the Department of Parks, Recreation and Community Services in Ashburn. Healthy snacks will be provided.
