D.C. WOMAN SENTENCED FOR THEFT FROM ULTA
JUDGE IMPOSES ONE YEAR AND FOUR MONTHS
LEESBURG, Virginia – April 27, 2015. Judge Burke F. McCahill sentenced Gerrae L. Lynn 24, to an active sentence of one year and four months in the Virginia Department of Corrections in connection with an October 2014 theft. Lynn pled guilty to one count of grand larceny in Loudoun County Circuit Court on March 27, 2015.
On October 26, 2014, the store manager of Ulta’s Village at Leesburg location was reviewing video surveillance footage from earlier in the afternoon when she observed two women enter the store, remove perfume bottles from the store display, place them into their bags, and exit the store without paying for the items. Ulta staff reported a second incident involving the same suspects on November 20, 2014. Law enforcement was able to identify the two woman as Gerrae Lynn and Latasha Mungo. The two women were subsequently arrested for Grand Larceny.
Lynn has an extensive criminal record including convictions for four misdemeanor larceny offenses, misdemeanor and felony identity theft, forgery of a public record, and various other offenses. Lynn also faces pending larceny charges in Prince William County, Virginia and Maryland.
In addition to the total active sentence of one year and four months, McCahill further ordered that Lynn be placed on three years post release supervision and pay $1,877.75 in restitution.
Lynn’s co-defendant, Latasha Mungo pled guilty to grand larceny on April 10, 2015 and is awaiting a final sentencing hearing on June 8, 2015 in Loudoun County Circuit Court.
