LCSO Thanks Community for Continuous Support & Appreciation During Friday Storm
Loudoun County, VA: The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office would like to thank members of the community for their support, patience, and sincere appreciation in the form of e-mails, phone calls, food and water for our dedicated and hardworking deputies and personnel.
Since late Friday evening, deputies were stationed throughout the county conducting traffic control at various major intersections where a total of 17 traffic signals were without power and had to be staffed 24-hours-a-day. In addition to other calls for service, deputies also responded to numerous fallen trees and other debris blocking roadways. This required an emergency call-out for agency sworn staff.
During this time, many members of the community came out to support their local law enforcement by providing deputies with water, food, and kind words of motivation to help them combat the extreme heat. “The outpouring of support from county residents let the deputies know how much they were appreciated for doing the necessary work to keep residents safe,” said Loudoun Sheriff Mike Chapman. “The last few days have been frustrating for many residents who have been without power for days. Their patience on the roadways, and support for deputies from the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office is greatly appreciated,” Sheriff Chapman added.
As of today all traffic signals are currently operational and the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office has returned to normal operations.
