Loudoun County, VA: The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office is reminding residents to secure their homes and vehicles after three burglaries in the Lansdowne area last week.

On July 13th Loudoun County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to homes on Scenic Creek Way, Lecroy Circle and Parallel Bluffs Court. The three homes were entered during the overnight hours and items taken included wallets, cell phones and other small electronics. In two of the burglaries, a door to the home was left unlocked and likely the point of entry for the suspect(s). In a third burglary on Parallel Bluffs Court, the suspect(s) entered an unlocked vehicle parked outside the home and used a garage door remote to open the garage door and gain entry into the home.

In light of these cases, members of the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office Crime Prevention Unit are encouraging residents to lock all outside doors and windows before you go to bed or leave the house and utilize your security alarm ( if installed and activated). Residents are also asked to keep their garage door closed and locked and lock vehicles parked inside and outside of garages. You are also encouraged to remove all items of value from the vehicle such as GPS units, cell phones, MP3 players and wallets.

If you have any information regarding these cases, you are asked to contact Detective N. Ferguson of the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division at 703-777-0475.

Callers wishing to remain anonymous are asked to call Loudoun Crime Solvers at 703-777-1919. If the information leads to an arrest and indictment, the caller could be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1000.

The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office also encourages residents to report all suspicious activity and/or vehicles by calling the 24-hour-non-emergency-line at 703-777-1021. If you observe a crime in progress, call 911 immediately.
